Reviews

Client feedback

“The October projection is worth the whole fee. Two years running I have made a purchase decision in November instead of regretting it in April.”

Danielle F., Restaurant owner

“My old accountant took eleven days to answer an email in March. These people answer the same day and never charge me for asking.”

FAQ

Working with a CPA

How much do you charge?

Business returns start at fourteen hundred and fifty dollars and monthly bookkeeping starts at four hundred and fifty. We quote a flat fee after a short call about your entity type, transaction volume and payroll. Nothing is billed hourly, so asking us a question never generates an invoice.

Should my business be an S corporation?

It depends on your profit, not your revenue. The election saves self employment tax once profit is comfortably past the point where a reasonable salary plus distributions beats a straight pass through, but it adds payroll filings and a separate return. We run the actual numbers for your business before recommending it.

Can you clean up books that are a mess?

Yes, and it is a large share of what we do in the first month with new clients. We quote catch up work separately based on how many months are unreconciled and how tangled the chart of accounts is. Most cleanups run one to three months of the ongoing monthly fee.

What do you need from me to file?

Access to your accounting file, bank and card statements, payroll reports, any 1099s and K1s, and a short questionnaire we send in January. If we do your bookkeeping, most of that is already in our hands and the return needs very little from you.
