Every gathering listed here is open to visitors and there is never a charge.
Sunday school, 9:45am
Classes for every age from preschool through a senior adult class, meeting between services.
Wednesday Bible study
Six thirty in the fellowship hall, working verse by verse through a book of scripture.
Youth ministry, grades 6 to 12
Friday evenings with study, service projects and an annual summer mission trip.
Food and clothing ministry
Second and fourth Saturdays, 9am to noon, open to any neighbor without paperwork.
Baptism and new member class
A four week class held quarterly for anyone considering baptism or joining the church.

A church family that has stayed on this corner since 1957
Mount Zion was organized in 1957 with 34 members meeting in a storefront. We are now about 620 members across two Sunday services, led by Pastor Curtis Amos, who has served here since 2011. We are affiliated with the National Baptist Convention.

If you are visiting
Which service should I attend?
The 8am service is shorter and quieter, usually about seventy five minutes. The 11am is fuller, includes the full choir and children's church, and runs closer to ninety minutes. The preaching is the same.
What should I wear?
You will see everything from suits and hats to jeans. Come in what you have. Nobody will comment either way and no one will ask you to stand up front.
Do you have programs for children?
Yes. Nursery for infants through age three and children's church for ages four through ten during the 11am service, plus Sunday school classes for every age at 9:45am. All workers with children are background screened.
How do I become a member?
Come forward during the invitation at the end of a service, or call the office and we will set up a time to talk with a pastor. New member class runs four weeks and meets quarterly, and baptisms are held on the first Sunday of the month.
