Our campus
A century in the Berkshires, and still a small school
Fairhaven has occupied the same 190 acre campus in Lenox since 1921. We have grown deliberately slowly, because the table sized class is the point. Boarders live in seven houses of about 30 students each with faculty families in residence, and every student meets weekly with an advisor who knows their teachers by name.

Admissions and student life
What does the application involve?
An online application, current and prior year transcripts, two teacher recommendations, a student essay, and an interview on campus or by video. Applications are due January 15 and decisions are released in mid March.
How does financial aid work?
Aid is need based and determined from the standard financial aid form plus tax documents. About 42 percent of students receive an award, and awards range from a portion of tuition to the full amount. Applying for aid does not affect an admission decision.
What happens on weekends for boarding students?
Saturday morning classes run until noon, then athletics. Weekends include scheduled trips into Lenox and Boston, campus events, and unstructured time. Students may sign out with parent permission, and every weekend is supervised by faculty on duty.
Can international students apply?
Yes. We currently enroll students from twelve countries and issue I-20 forms for student visas. International applicants without English as a first language submit a TOEFL or Duolingo score, and our English support program is available at no additional cost.
