We service every boat we rent
Blue Channel started in 2008 with two pontoons and a borrowed slip. Every boat still comes back through our own mechanics, and nothing goes out with a hull hour history we have not looked at. That is the reason our breakdown calls are rare, and when one happens we run a tow boat out ourselves rather than making you wait on a service.

FAQ
Rental questions
Do I need a boating license?
No license is required, but North Carolina requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 to complete a boater education course to operate a vessel over 10 hp. We can point you to the free online course, which takes about three hours.
What is the deposit and what happens if something breaks?
We hold $500 on a credit card, released within three business days of return. Normal wear is on us. Damage from grounding, propeller strikes or towing violations is billed at cost with an itemized invoice.
What happens if the weather turns?
If the National Weather Service posts a thunderstorm warning for the lake during your window, you can reschedule or take a full refund. Overcast or light rain is not a refundable condition.
How much fuel will we use?
A pontoon on a half day of easy cruising typically burns 8 to 14 gallons. A wake boat running ballast all day can pass 40. We top the tank before you leave and charge only what you use.
