The brewery

Two brewers who like doing it the slow way

Ironwake opened in 2016 in a former auto body shop that already had the drains, which saved us a year. We lager properly, which means tank time we could spend on faster turns, and we say no to gimmicks more often than our sales rep would like. Last year we brewed about 2,400 barrels and most of it left through the taproom door.

•Six core beers always on tap, no bait and switch
•Spent grain goes to a farm twenty minutes north
•Food trucks Thursday through Sunday, outside food welcome anytime

Reviews

What drinkers say

“Their pilsner is the beer I judge other pilsners against now, which is annoying.”

Brett H., Eastown

“Took the Saturday tour and the brewer answered a very nerdy question about decoction for ten minutes straight.”

Lisa F., Brewery tour

“Rented the taproom for a fortieth. Easiest party I have ever thrown.”

Danielle A., Private buyout
FAQ

Taproom questions

Do you serve food?

We do not have a kitchen. A food truck parks out front Thursday through Sunday and the schedule is posted weekly. You are welcome to bring in food or have delivery sent to the taproom any day.

Are kids and dogs allowed?

Kids are welcome until 8pm accompanied by an adult, and we keep board games and root beer on tap. Dogs are welcome on the patio but not inside, because of licensing rules on the production floor side.

Can I get a growler or take beer home?

We fill 32 ounce crowlers from any tap except the barrel-aged beers. Sixth and half barrel kegs need 48 hours notice and a refundable deposit. We do not refill outside growlers.

Do you offer tours?

Saturdays at 2pm and 4pm, $15 per person, capped at twelve people so you can actually hear the brewer. Book online, closed-toe shoes required on the production floor.
