Beef ground this morning, smashed to order

Two four ounce patties pressed hard on a 500 degree flat top for the crust that matters. We grind chuck and brisket in house every morning and stop serving when it runs out.

Our kitchen

One flat top, one grinder, no freezer

We opened in a former dry cleaner with a used flat top and a menu of four burgers. The grinder runs at 8am with chuck and brisket from a ranch outside Emmett, and whatever we grind is what we sell that day. When it is gone we close the window early, which happens most Saturdays.

•Chuck and brisket blend ground fresh every morning
•Fries cut, soaked, and double fried in house
•Gluten free buns and a black bean patty available on every burger

What people say after one bite

“The crust on those patties is the whole point and they nail it every single time. Nothing steamed, nothing gray.”

Kyle D., Regular since 2017

“We got there at 8:15 on a Saturday and they had sold out of beef. Came back Tuesday and understood why.”

Priya M., Visiting from Portland

“Best fries in Boise, and I say that as someone who grew up on a potato farm.”

FAQ

Before you come in

Do you take reservations?

No, we are counter service and first come first served. The line moves fast because tickets average about six minutes. Weeknights before 6pm are the quietest.

Can I order ahead for pickup?

Yes, through our online ordering page. We start your ticket at the pickup time you choose rather than when you order, so the burger is hot when you arrive.

Do you have vegetarian or gluten free options?

We make a house black bean patty that can go on any burger, and gluten free buns are available for a dollar. The fries are cooked in beef tallow, so they are not vegetarian.

Why do you sometimes close early?

We grind a fixed amount of beef each morning and never freeze or hold it overnight. On busy nights we run out, usually Fridays and Saturdays. Following us for the sold out post is the best way to avoid a wasted trip.
