Meridian Auto Detail books a limited number of cars per day on purpose, because correction work done fast is correction work done badly. Paint thickness is measured before any compound touches the panel, and you get before and after photos under the same light. If a defect cannot be safely removed we tell you rather than burning through clear coat.

Detailing questions we hear daily
How is this different from a car wash?
A tunnel wash removes dirt and usually adds fine scratches while doing it. Detailing is hand work that removes contamination from the paint and then corrects the defects underneath with a machine polisher. That is why one takes eight minutes and the other takes most of a day.
Will paint correction fix a deep scratch?
Only if the scratch is inside the clear coat, which you can roughly test with a fingernail. If your nail catches, the scratch has gone past what polishing can safely remove and it needs paint work. We measure clear coat thickness first and stop before it becomes unsafe.
How long will the results last?
A sealant lasts about four to six months depending on how the car is stored and washed. Correction itself is permanent until new swirls are put back in, and the fastest way to do that is an automatic brush wash. Hand washing with two buckets keeps it looking corrected for years.
Do I need to be there while you work?
No, most customers drop off in the morning and pick up late afternoon. Mobile visits do require access to your driveway but not your presence the whole time. Either way you get photos before we start on anything unexpected.
