Everything here is open to visitors. Registration helps us reach you, it is never a requirement to attend.
Daily Mass and Adoration
Mass weekdays at 8am, Eucharistic Adoration Thursdays from 9am to 6pm.
Reconciliation
Saturdays 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and by appointment any weekday with a call to the office.
Sacramental preparation
Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, and OCIA for adults entering the Church.
Faith formation for children
Sunday classes for grades one through eight during the 10am Mass, plus a nursery.
Parish food pantry
Open Wednesdays and Saturdays 9am to noon to any neighbor, no paperwork and no questions.
About our parish
A neighborhood parish for over a century
Saint Brigid was founded in 1911 to serve Irish and Italian families in what was then the edge of Portland. The neighborhood has changed many times since and so has the parish. Today about 740 families call this church home, worshiping in English and Spanish under one roof.

Questions from visitors
I am not Catholic. Can I attend Mass?
Yes, absolutely, and you are welcome to come as often as you like. You are invited to join in the prayers and hymns. Communion is reserved for Catholics who are prepared to receive it, but anyone may come forward with arms crossed for a blessing instead.
How do we arrange a baptism or a wedding?
Call the parish office to start. Baptisms require one preparation session for parents and godparents and are usually scheduled within a month. Weddings need at least six months notice so there is time for preparation and for the paperwork the archdiocese requires.
What should I wear and where do I park?
Come in whatever you have. You will see everything from suits to work clothes here. Free parking is in the school lot off Northeast 24th, and street parking is unrestricted on Sundays.
Do I need to register to be part of the parish?
No, you may attend and give without registering. Registering simply lets us reach you about sacraments, formation classes and parish news, and it helps when you need a letter to serve as a godparent or sponsor elsewhere.
