The grounds
Cared for since before Lancaster paved these roads
Maple Grove has been in continuous operation since 1871 and is governed by a nonprofit board rather than owned by an operator. Our perpetual care fund is held in trust and pays for mowing, road repair, tree work, and stone resetting for as long as the cemetery stands. Records back to the first burial are indexed and open to families and researchers.

Cemetery questions
Can we buy a plot in advance?
Yes, and many families do. Buying ahead lets you choose the location, lock in today's price, and spare your family a decision during a hard week. Plots can be paid over twelve months with no interest, and they are transferable if you move away.
Do you require a burial vault?
Traditional sections require an outer burial container so the ground does not settle over time. Our green burial section does not, and also does not require embalming or a vault. Ask the office which section suits what your family wants.
What kind of marker can we place?
Upright monuments are permitted in most sections, while the memorial garden and some newer sections are flush marker only so the mowers can pass. Bring your monument dealer's drawing to the office and we will confirm the size and set the foundation.
Can cremated remains be buried here?
Yes, in three ways. Urns can be buried in the cremation garden, placed in a columbarium niche, or interred in an existing family plot, which often lets a family stay together without buying new ground. The office can check what space an existing plot still has.
