What a school day at Rivermark looks like
Core instruction every morning, electives and enrichment every afternoon, support built into the schedule rather than added on.
Middle grades program, 6 to 8
Subject specialist teachers, algebra pathway, and an advisory teacher who follows the same students all three years.
Special education and 504 services
Full IEP services on site, delivered by our own certified staff rather than contracted out.
Before and after school care
Supervised care from 6:45am and until 6pm, homework help included.
Music, art and robotics electives
Every student takes two electives per term, no additional fee and instruments are provided.
Summer bridge for new students
Two week June program for incoming students so the first day is not the first visit.
About our school
Founded by Tulsa teachers, still run by them
Rivermark opened in 2009 with 84 students in a leased church annex. Today we serve 512 students across two buildings on East 51st Street. We are governed by a local board of parents and educators, and we answer to the same state accountability standards as every other Oklahoma public school.

FAQ
Enrollment questions we hear most
Is there tuition or an application fee?
No. Rivermark is a tuition free public charter school funded by the state of Oklahoma. There is no application fee and no entrance exam.
When does enrollment open and how does the lottery work?
Applications open the first week of January and close March 15. If we receive more applications than open seats, we hold a public lottery in early April. Siblings of current students and children of staff receive preference, everyone else is drawn at random.
Do you provide transportation?
We run buses to six neighborhood stops across south and midtown Tulsa. Stop locations are published each August. Families outside those routes often carpool, and we help coordinate that at orientation.
What happens if my child needs special education services?
We provide the full range of IEP and 504 services with our own certified special education staff. Bring your current IEP to enrollment and our team will schedule a placement meeting before the school year starts.
