About Meridian

Planners who used to sit on the client side

Meridian was founded in 2012 by Alison Pham, who ran internal events at a Minneapolis medical device company for nine years. Our five planners have all worked in house, which is why our proposals show you where the money actually goes. We do not accept commissions from venues or vendors.

•Flat fee model with no hidden venue or vendor commissions
•Every proposal includes a line item budget you can take to finance
•A lead planner and a named backup on every event over 200 guests
Vibrant event hall set up for a themed dinner with elegant decorations and lighting.
Reviews

What clients said afterward

“Our kickoff ran seven minutes over across three days. Our CFO could reconcile the invoice against their budget line by line.”

Dara N., VP Sales, software company

“They talked us out of a venue we loved because the load in would have cost us $9,000 in overtime. They were right.”

Craig W., Director of Marketing

“Six hundred people, coat check, buses and dinner, and nobody waited more than five minutes for anything.”

Simone A., HR lead, holiday party
FAQ

Budgets, timing and scope

How far in advance should we start?

Six to nine months for a multi day kickoff or conference, and by August for a December holiday party. We can compress to eight weeks, though venue and hotel options narrow sharply.

How do you charge?

A flat planning fee quoted up front based on scope and headcount, plus vendor costs billed at actual price with the invoices attached. We take no commissions, rebates or kickbacks from venues or vendors.

Do you travel outside Minnesota?

Yes, about a third of our events are elsewhere in the country. Travel and lodging for the on site team is billed at cost and estimated in the original proposal.

What happens if a vendor fails on event day?

Every event over 200 guests has a written contingency for catering, AV and transportation, with named backup vendors contacted during planning. Our on site lead carries those numbers and the authority to use them.
