Programs
Language, dance, archive and gathering
Membership supports all of it. Most programs are open to non members at a modest additional fee.
Children's Greek school
Two afternoons a week, September through May, for ages five to fifteen at three levels.
Adult Greek classes
Beginner and intermediate conversational Greek, Tuesday evenings for ten weeks.
Folk dance troupes
Four age groups rehearsing weekly, performing at the festival and at regional events.
Hall and kitchen rental
The main hall seats 180 with a commercial kitchen, available to members and the wider community.
Archive and library access
Four thousand volumes plus a photo and oral history archive of Greek families in Tampa Bay.
About the association
Sixty four years on Kennedy Boulevard
The association was founded in 1961 by fourteen families, several of them descended from the sponge diving community in Tarpon Springs. Today we are a registered nonprofit with 620 member families, run almost entirely by volunteers, with two part time staff. The archive holds photographs and recorded interviews going back to the 1920s, and anyone researching family history is welcome to use it.

FAQ
Joining and taking part
Do I need Greek heritage to join?
No. Membership is open to anyone interested in Greek language and culture, and a good number of our adult class students have no Greek family at all. Spouses, partners and friends are welcome at every event.
Does the Greek school count for school credit?
Yes for high school students. Our upper levels are accredited for foreign language credit accepted by Hillsborough and Pinellas county schools, and we provide transcripts each May. Check with your student's counselor before enrolling to confirm placement.
When is the festival?
The second full weekend of October, on the grounds at Kennedy Boulevard, running Friday evening through Sunday. Admission is a few dollars at the gate, free for members, and the dance troupes perform four times across the weekend.
How can I help if I do not have much time?
The festival needs about 200 volunteers for a single weekend, which is the easiest way to contribute. Beyond that we always need help with the archive digitization project, which can be done from home an hour at a time.
