About the salon
A quiet salon run by two groomers
Kim opened Muddy Paws in 2014 after twelve years in a high volume shop where dogs waited in crates all afternoon. Here the schedule is built around one dog at a time, so nervous dogs are not sitting in noise for hours. Everything is hand dried on a table.

Grooming questions we get every week
My dog is matted. Will you shave him?
Sometimes that is the only humane option. We check the coat at drop off and tell you whether it can be brushed out or whether the mats are too tight to the skin. Dematting a badly matted coat hurts, so we will not spend an hour pulling on it for the sake of length.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Poodle and doodle coats need a full groom every four to six weeks or they mat. Short coated breeds do fine with a bath and brush every eight to twelve weeks. We will put a schedule on your file so you are not guessing.
Do you require vaccination records?
Yes, we need current rabies and DHPP on file before the first appointment. Your vet can email them to us directly. Bordetella is recommended but not required since dogs are not housed together here.
What happens if my dog bites?
We stop. If a dog is genuinely unsafe to handle we will finish what we safely can, charge only for the work completed, and refer you to a vet who can groom under light sedation. We do not muzzle and push through.
