The bench
Four technicians and a very old oscilloscope
Halcyon opened on Fairview in 2004 doing car stereo and slowly became the shop people brought their grandfather's receiver to. Our technicians work at the component level, which means we replace the failed capacitor instead of the whole board. If a repair costs more than the gear is worth, we say so before you spend anything.

FAQ
Repair questions
How long will my repair take?
Three to five business days for most work once parts are in hand. Vintage audio can take longer if a part has to be sourced, and we will call you with a revised date rather than letting it sit.
What does the diagnostic fee cover?
It covers up to an hour on the bench and a written estimate of parts and labor. If you approve the repair, the fee comes off the total, and if you decline, you owe only the forty-five dollars.
Do you work on devices you did not sell?
Yes, and most of what crosses the bench was bought elsewhere. The exceptions are phones with glued displays and gear still under manufacturer warranty, which you should send back to the maker first.
Can you recover files from a dead drive?
Often, when the failure is logical rather than mechanical, and we do that work in house starting at $180. Drives with physical head damage need a clean room lab, and we will refer you rather than risk making things worse.
