About our school
A neighborhood school with a long staff tenure
Willow Creek opened in 1988 and serves the southern attendance zone. Principal Renae Iverson is in her eleventh year here and the average teacher has been on staff nine years, which is unusual and it shows in how the school runs. We have 420 students across 22 classrooms, plus specialists, counselors and a full time nurse.

Enrollment and school day
How do I enroll my child?
Enrollment happens online through the district portal year round. You will need proof of address in the attendance zone, a birth certificate and an immunization record. Kindergarten registration for the coming fall opens in February and we hold a spring visit night in April.
Can we attend if we live outside the zone?
The district runs an open enrollment process each winter, and we accept out of zone students in grades with space. Kindergarten and first grade usually have openings, and fourth grade rarely does. Applications are due by the first Friday in February.
What is the daily schedule?
Doors open at 7:30am for breakfast, instruction begins at 8:10am and dismissal is at 3:15pm. Every grade has a 90 minute literacy block in the morning, a 25 minute lunch, and at least 30 minutes of recess. Wednesdays release at 2:15pm for staff collaboration.
How do you communicate with families?
Teachers send a weekly classroom update by email or app, and the office sends a Sunday newsletter. Conferences happen in October and March, and any family can request a meeting any time. We provide Spanish, Nepali and Swahili interpreters at no cost.
