Nora Whitfield opened Verdigris in 2015 after six years in a busy medspa where every client got the same protocol. Both estheticians here are licensed by the South Carolina board and keep up post graduate training in chemical exfoliation and acne care. We refer to dermatology when something is medical, not cosmetic.

FAQ
Before your appointment
How often should I get a facial?
Every four to six weeks matches your skin cell turnover cycle and is enough for most people. If you are working through active acne or pigmentation, we usually run every two weeks for the first stretch, then space it out.
Can I get a peel before an event?
Plan at least two weeks ahead. Light lactic peels usually leave nothing visible after a day or two, but glycolic and salicylic can flake on day three to five. Tell us the date when you book and we will pick the right strength.
What should I avoid before a treatment?
Stop retinoids five days before any peel or dermaplaning, skip waxing and laser hair removal for two weeks, and come with clean skin if you can. If you are on Accutane, we need you off it for six months before exfoliating treatments.
Do you treat acne, or should I see a dermatologist?
We treat congestion, blackheads and mild to moderate breakouts very effectively with extractions, chemical exfoliation and a home routine. Cystic acne and anything painful under the skin needs a dermatologist, and we will say so and often work alongside them.
