Marigold takes twenty six events a year and no more, because the quality of a wedding day comes down to how much attention the planner has left. Two of us are on site for every event, one with the couple and one with vendors, which is how the timeline holds when the ceremony starts nineteen minutes late. We have worked most Lowcountry venues repeatedly and we know their loading rules, curfews and rain plans.
“It poured at four o'clock. They moved a hundred and forty people indoors in twenty minutes and I did not even know until it was done.”
Hannah B., October wedding, Kiawah
“My mother sat down at the reception instead of running it. That was the entire point of hiring them.”
Chris D., Downtown Charleston wedding
“They negotiated our rentals down eleven hundred dollars, which more or less covered their coordination fee.”
Alexis M., Spring wedding, Mount Pleasant
A venue coordinator works for the venue and manages the building, staffing and food service. A planner works for you, manages every vendor including the venue, builds the timeline and handles anything that goes sideways. Most couples need both and are surprised to learn the venue coordinator is not running their day.
Full planning couples usually book twelve to eighteen months out. Coordination can be booked as late as three months before, though popular Saturdays in April, May and October go early because we cap the calendar.
No. We recommend vendors because they perform, not because they pay us. Any discount we negotiate goes to you on the vendor's invoice, and you can see every contract.
Every outdoor event gets a written rain plan finalized six weeks out, including the call time for the decision, who makes it and exactly what moves where. We hold tent quotes in advance so the decision is not also a price negotiation.
Send your date, venue and rough guest count and we will confirm availability within two business days.
