Pricing depends on fabric and hand finishing, so every quote comes after the first consultation, not before.

The studio
Drafted by hand, sewn six floors up
Marisol trained in pattern making in Mexico City and spent seven years in production rooms downtown before opening her own studio in 2014. The whole team is three people, which is why the calendar only holds a handful of commissions at a time. Clients see the toile on their own body before a single yard of good fabric is cut.

About commissioning a piece
How far ahead do I need to book?
Eveningwear takes about ten weeks from consultation to delivery and bridal takes six to nine months. Awards season and spring wedding dates fill the calendar first. If you have a hard date, book the consultation before you buy fabric or anything else.
What happens at the fittings?
The first fitting is the toile, a plain cotton version of the design, where we correct the fit and the proportion on your body. The second is the garment in the real fabric with seams basted. The third is a final check of hem, closures, and finish before it leaves the studio.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes, and many clients do. We ask to see it before the pattern is drafted because weight and drape change how a design has to be cut. If a fabric will not behave for the shape you want, we will say so early rather than after it is cut.
What does the deposit cover and is it refundable?
Fifty percent is due at the start and it covers fabric, pattern drafting, and the toile, which is why it is not refundable once cutting begins. The balance is due at final fitting. Design changes before cutting are free, changes after cutting are quoted separately.
