How much does a broken spring cost to fix?
A standard two car door runs $285 to $420 depending on spring size and cycle rating. We always replace both springs even when one is intact, because the second is the same age and will fail within months of the first.
Can I replace a garage door spring myself?
We strongly recommend against it. Torsion springs hold enormous stored energy and the winding bars will break bones if they slip, which is why this is one of the few home repairs that regularly sends people to the emergency room.
How long should a garage door opener last?
Ten to fifteen years is typical for a chain drive, and belt drives often go longer with lighter use. If yours is over twelve years old and needs a $250 board, replacement usually makes more sense than repair.
Do you offer emergency service?
Yes, twenty-four hours for doors that will not close or vehicles trapped inside, with an after hours fee of $95 on top of the repair. During business hours most calls are handled the same day at standard rates.
