Cedar Point has been physician owned since 2007. Our four gastroenterologists are board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in gastroenterology, and every procedure is done in our accredited suite next door rather than sent across town. We keep same week slots open for urgent symptoms.

Common patient questions
At what age should I start colon cancer screening?
Current national guidelines recommend average risk adults begin at 45. If you have a first degree relative with colon cancer or polyps, or a personal history of IBD, screening usually starts earlier. Call us and we will tell you what applies to your history.
Do I need a referral to be seen here?
Most PPO plans let you book directly with us. HMO and some Medicare Advantage plans require a referral from your primary care provider. Our front desk checks this when you call so you are not surprised at check in.
What does the colonoscopy prep actually involve?
You will follow a clear liquid diet the day before and drink a split dose laxative solution, half in the evening and half early the morning of the procedure. We provide written instructions and a prep coach phone number, since a good prep is what makes the exam accurate.
Will I be asleep during the procedure?
A certified anesthesia provider gives sedation for every endoscopy and colonoscopy, and most patients remember nothing. You will need a licensed driver to take you home, which we confirm when scheduling.
