The Course

A 1974 Dick Phelps routing that still asks the right questions.

Cedar Hollow sits on rolling ground east of the Poudre, with cottonwoods framing the front nine and the back opening into wind off the foothills. Bentgrass greens, bluegrass fairways, and thirty-eight bunkers rebuilt with white Ottawa sand in 2023.

No. 14, the Hollow. A 341 yard par 4 that drops forty feet to a green tucked behind the ditch. Drivable with the west wind, unplayable if you are greedy with it.

"We moved our foundation scramble here after two years of poor communication somewhere else. Marisol had our proposal back the next morning and every cart sign was right."

Kelly, Poudre Schools Foundation, 128 players

"Best conditioned public greens in Larimer County, and I play four of them regularly. The bunker sand they put in two years ago changed the whole course."

Tom, full pass holder since 2016

"My daughter started in the junior program at eight. She is eleven now and beat me from the Cedar tees in July."

Before You Come Out

Questions the shop hears every week.

How far in advance can I book?

Seven days for the public, eight days for season pass holders. The sheet opens at 6:00 a.m. each morning. Groups of twelve or more should call the shop instead of booking online.

Do I have to take a cart?

No. Cedar Hollow is a genuinely walkable routing with short green to tee transitions, and roughly a third of our morning players walk. Carts are required only for shotgun start events.

Can I bring my own beverages?

Colorado liquor licensing means outside alcohol is not allowed anywhere on the property. Coolers with water and soft drinks are fine, and the beverage cart runs from 9 a.m. on weekends.

What happens if it rains or we get a frost delay?

Frost delays are posted on the course status line by 6 a.m. and your tee time moves back with the field. If lightning suspends play, we issue a rain check for the holes you did not finish, valid for twelve months.

Is there a junior or beginner friendly time?

Yes. After 3 p.m. on weekdays the course is quiet, juniors play for $18, and the rangers know to leave new players alone as long as they keep up with the group ahead.

Do you post handicaps?

Season pass holders can join the Cedar Hollow club through the Colorado Golf Association for $47 a year, which includes an official handicap index and entry into CGA qualifying events.
