About the studio
We manage the boring parts too
Design is the fun half. The other half is tracking forty purchase orders, catching a sofa that shipped in the wrong fabric and standing in the house on install day. Hearth and Frame does both, which is why our clients get a finished room rather than a mood board and a project they have to finish themselves. We work in phases so you can spread the budget across a year if you need to.

How design works
How do designers charge?
We charge flat design fees by scope so you know the cost before we start, and we pass trade discounts on furnishings through to you rather than marking them up. Renovation management is billed as a percentage of construction because the workload scales with the job.
What is a realistic furnishing budget?
For a living room done properly with quality upholstery, rug, lighting and window treatments, most of our clients land between twelve and twenty five thousand dollars. We will tell you at the consultation whether your number and your expectations match, honestly.
Do I have to redo the whole house?
No. Plenty of clients start with one room, and many do the whole house on paper then execute it a room at a time over a year or two. Planning it together keeps the finished house coherent even when the spending is spread out.
How long does a project take?
A single room package runs about ten to fourteen weeks, most of which is furniture lead times rather than design. Renovations depend on scope and permits, typically four to nine months from first drawing to final walkthrough.
