Hand forged in 14k or 18k, hammered, brushed or polished, sized after a fitting.

Two makers, one studio, no outsourced casting
Iris and Priya met in a metalsmithing program and opened Fen & Foundry in 2015 in Providence, a city that has been making jewelry for two centuries. All metal is recycled, and colored stones come from suppliers who can name the mine. If we cannot trace a stone, we do not sell it, and we will say so rather than making something up.

FAQ
Custom and care
How long does a custom piece take?
Six to eight weeks from approved design to finished piece, longer if we are sourcing a specific stone. Rush work is sometimes possible for an added fee. We give you a date at the consult and tell you promptly if anything slips.
Can I use stones from jewelry I already own?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We inspect the stones first, since older stones can have chips that limit setting options. Anything we do not use comes back to you in a labeled packet, along with any scrap metal value credited to your invoice.
Do you buy or work with lab grown diamonds?
We set both lab grown and natural stones and will quote the same piece either way so you can compare. Lab grown typically runs a fraction of the price for the same size and clarity. We do not steer you toward one, and we disclose which is which in writing.
How should I care for handmade jewelry?
Take rings off for gym work, gardening and cleaning products, which do more damage than daily wear. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush handles most cleaning. Bring pieces in once a year and we will check prongs and re-polish for free.
