If your matter falls outside these areas we will tell you at the consultation and point you to someone who handles it.

Jennifer Hallberg and Andres Reyes started the firm in 2011 after both spent years at larger Des Moines practices. It stayed small on purpose. The attorney at your consultation is the attorney at your hearing, and clients get a direct email address rather than a general inbox.
“I had been putting off a will for nine years because I assumed it would be complicated and expensive. It was one meeting, a flat fee, and a signing appointment.”
Doug F., estate planning client
“She told me at the first meeting which parts of what I wanted were realistic and which were not. Nobody else had done that.”
Kristin L., custody matter
“When my father died I had no idea what probate even meant. They walked me through every filing and never made me feel behind.”
Omar D., probate client
You spend about thirty minutes with an attorney describing your situation. You leave knowing what the process looks like, roughly how long it takes, and what it will cost. There is no charge and no obligation to hire us.
Iowa has a ninety day waiting period from the date the other party is served, so nothing finalizes faster than that. An uncontested divorce usually closes in three to four months. Contested matters with custody or property disputes commonly run nine months to over a year.
For many Iowa families a will plus proper beneficiary designations does the job. A trust makes sense when you own property in more than one state, want to avoid probate delay, or need to control how and when a beneficiary receives money. We will tell you honestly which one fits.
Bring anything relevant that you already have: existing court orders, a prior will, deeds, or account statements. If you have none of it, come anyway. Most first meetings start with a conversation, not a document review.
Send a short description of your situation and we will call you back within one business day to schedule the consultation.
