Started after a blown response deadline
Our co-founder spent nine years as a civil litigator in Travis County and watched a firm lose a case on a miscounted response window. Docketwise Labs began in 2018 as an internal tool at that firm and now serves small and midsize litigation practices in 41 states. Every rule set is reviewed by a licensed attorney before it ships.

What firms ask before switching
How do you keep court rules current?
We monitor rule amendments in every jurisdiction we support and push updates within five business days. Each change is reviewed by a licensed attorney, and you get a notice in-app listing what changed and which of your matters it touches.
Who owns the data, and can we leave?
Your firm owns its data outright. You can export matters, documents and time entries in standard formats at any time from the admin panel. There is no exit fee and no waiting period.
Does this replace our practice management system?
For most firms of two to forty attorneys, yes. Firms that keep a separate accounting package usually run Docketwise for matters and docketing and export time entries out. We support LEDES and direct connectors to the common systems.
How long does implementation take?
A ten attorney firm is typically live in three to four weeks. Two of those weeks are data migration and reconciliation. We run parallel docketing for the first two weeks so nothing depends on the new system until you trust it.
