How we cook

One kitchen, one cook day, real food

Prep Line started in 2019 out of a shared kitchen on Burnet Road. We cook everything on Saturday and package it the same afternoon, which is why meals last five refrigerated days rather than needing a freezer. Proteins come from two Texas suppliers. The menu rotates weekly because eating the same four dishes forever is how meal prep dies.

Reviews

From regulars

“I stopped eating out for lunch entirely. Twelve meals costs me less than three restaurant lunches and I actually hit my protein.”

Marcus W., 12 meal week, since 2022

“The menu changing every week is the reason I have not quit like I did with two other services.”

Priya N., 8 meal week

“Skipped four weeks over the summer for travel with two clicks and no phone call to cancel anything.”

FAQ

How it works

How long do the meals last?

Five days refrigerated from Sunday, so a Friday lunch is still good. You can freeze any meal on arrival and it holds for about two months, though texture on rice and roasted vegetables suffers a little. Containers are microwave safe, three minutes covered is the usual.

Do I have to subscribe?

There is a recurring option because most people want it, but there is no contract, no minimum number of weeks and no cancellation fee. Skip weeks whenever you want from your account, as long as you do it before the Thursday 8pm cutoff.

Can you handle allergies?

Every dish lists its full ingredients and major allergens on the menu, so you can avoid what you need to. We cook in a shared kitchen that handles nuts, dairy, gluten, soy and shellfish, so we cannot guarantee against cross contact for a severe allergy.

What if I miss the Thursday cutoff?

We order and prep food against the Thursday count, so late orders cannot be added. We usually have a small number of extra meals available for walk in purchase at pickup on Sunday, posted to our account holders Saturday night.
