Two optometrists who own the place
Lakeshore is independent, so the doctors choose the equipment and the frame lines instead of a corporate buyer. We invest in retinal imaging that catches diabetic and glaucoma changes early, and we carry frames across a wide price range rather than only the expensive ones. Adjustments and minor repairs on glasses bought here are always free.

Common eye care questions
How often should I get an eye exam?
Every two years for healthy adults under sixty with stable vision, and annually after that or if you wear contact lenses, have diabetes, or have a family history of glaucoma. Children should have their first exam around age one and again before starting school.
Will you dilate my eyes?
Not always. Our wide angle retinal camera gives a clear view of the back of the eye for most patients, which means no drops and no blurry drive home. We still dilate when the images show something we want a closer look at, or when a condition calls for it.
Do you take my vision insurance?
We are in network with VSP, EyeMed and Davis Vision, and we bill most major medical plans for medical eye visits. Vision plans cover routine exams and eyewear, medical plans cover things like pink eye, dry eye and diabetic eye exams. We will tell you which one applies.
Can I use my prescription somewhere else?
Yes. You own your prescription and we hand you a copy at the end of every exam, including your contact lens parameters after a fitting is finalized. There is no obligation to buy eyewear here.
