Segmental retaining walls
Engineered walls with drainage stone and geogrid on anything over three feet.
Outdoor kitchens and grill islands
Steel framed island, stone veneer, granite top and rough-in for gas and power.
Fire pits and seat walls
Round or square pit with matching seat wall that ties into the patio field.
Patio repair and releveling
We lift sunken sections, correct the base and re-sand rather than tearing the whole thing out.
Drainage and grading correction
Catch basins and buried downspout lines so water leaves the patio instead of pooling on it.

Two crews, both run by the owners
Kyle and Marcus Boersma started laying pavers for a landscape company in 2004 and went out on their own three years later. They still run the two install crews, so the person who quoted your patio is on site when it goes in. We do not subcontract the excavation or the laying.

Questions we get on every estimate
How long does a paver patio take to install?
A typical 400 to 600 square foot patio takes three to five working days. Excavation and base prep is usually two of those days, and that is the part that decides whether it stays flat.
What does a patio cost in West Michigan?
Most of our patios land between $22 and $34 per square foot installed. The spread comes from paver choice, how far we have to haul spoil, and whether the site needs retaining or drainage work.
Will pavers heave in Michigan winters?
Not if the base is right. We excavate 10 to 12 inches and compact in lifts so meltwater drains below the pavers instead of freezing under them. Heaving is almost always a sign of a thin or uncompacted base.
Do I need a permit for a patio?
A ground level patio usually does not need one in Kent County, but retaining walls over four feet and anything with gas or electric does. We pull the permits we need and schedule the inspections.
