We are a Pentecostal congregation of about 340 people who worship loud, pray together on Wednesdays, and feed our neighborhood every second Saturday.

Sunday evening service
A smaller, more open evening focused on testimony, worship, and prayer for healing.
Wednesday prayer and Bible study
One hour of corporate prayer followed by verse by verse study in the fellowship hall.
Youth ministry, ages 12 to 18
Friday nights with worship, small groups, and a summer camp trip to Pickwick.

Sunday at 2pm in the chapel with its own worship team and childrens class.
Second Saturday food pantry
Groceries for any neighbor who comes, no paperwork and no questions asked.
Who we are
A working neighborhood church, not a production
Living Flame began in 1994 with eleven families meeting in a rented storefront on Shelby Drive. Pastor Andre Whitfield has led the congregation since 2006. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we pray for the sick, and we still take time at the altar even when the service runs long.

FAQ
Visiting for the first time
What should I wear?
Whatever you own. Some people wear suits and hats, others come in jeans straight from a shift. Nobody will comment either way.
How long is the Sunday service?
Usually about two hours, from 10am until noon. Altar prayer continues after for anyone who wants it, and you are free to leave before that starts.
What happens with my children during service?
We have a staffed nursery for infants through age three and childrens church for ages four through eleven. Check in is at the table by the main doors and you will get a matching pickup tag.
What do you mean by Pentecostal?
We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in the New Testament are still active today, including praying in tongues and prayer for healing. Services are expressive, and no one is ever pressured to participate in anything.
