Dr. Nadine Escobar completed a three year residency in periodontics after dental school and has practiced in Sarasota since 2008. We limit our work to gum health and implants, which is why we invest in guided surgery, laser therapy and a cone beam scanner rather than spreading across general dentistry.

What patients want to know
How do I know if I have gum disease?
Bleeding when you brush or floss is the earliest common sign, along with persistent bad breath, gums that have pulled back from the teeth, and teeth that feel loose or have shifted. Many people have no pain at all until it is advanced, which is why a pocket charting exam matters more than how your mouth feels.
How long does an implant take from start to finish?
Placement is a single appointment of about an hour. The implant then integrates with the bone for three to four months before your general dentist makes the crown. If a graft is needed first, add three to six months. We map the timeline for your specific case at the consultation.
Does insurance cover any of this?
Most dental plans cover scaling and root planing and some cover gum surgery, usually at 50 to 80 percent after your deductible. Implant coverage varies widely and many plans exclude it. We submit a pre treatment estimate to your insurer so you know your share before you commit.
Will the surgery hurt?
The procedure is done under local anesthetic and you should feel pressure but not pain. IV sedation is available if you are anxious. Most patients manage afterward with ibuprofen for two or three days, and we call you the evening after surgery to check.
