The nursery
Two greenhouses and an acre of natives
Verdant Row opened in 2015 selling perennials from a gravel lot and added the greenhouses two years later. We grow about a third of our stock ourselves, mostly the natives, and we buy the rest from growers in North Carolina and Georgia so nothing arrives from across the country in shock. Ask anyone here what a plant needs and you will get a real answer.

Plant care questions
Do you guarantee plants?
Trees and shrubs we deliver and plant carry a one year warranty covering replacement. Houseplants and perennials come with thirty days, and we ask for a photo so we can figure out what went wrong together.
How do I know which plants suit my light?
Take a photo out the window and note which direction it faces and how many hours of direct sun it gets. We will match that to a shortlist rather than selling you a fiddle leaf fig for a north-facing hallway.
When is the best time to plant trees here?
October through March is ideal in the Piedmont, because roots establish while the top is dormant and summer heat is months away. Planting in June is possible but demands serious watering through the first year.
Can you diagnose a sick plant?
Yes, and there is no charge. Bring the plant in a bag if it might have pests, or send photos of the leaves, the soil surface, and the whole plant, and we will usually narrow it to overwatering, light, or a specific pest.
