Adult education, 9am
Three rotating classes on scripture, church history and current questions of faith.
Children's church and nursery
Nursery for infants to age three, children's church for ages four to ten during the sermon.
Middle and high school youth group
Sunday evenings 6pm to 8pm during the school year, with two service trips each summer.
Wednesday community supper
A hot meal at 5:30pm open to the neighborhood, about 90 people most weeks.
Clothing closet and food pantry
Saturdays 9am to noon, no appointment, no proof of income and no questions asked.
Who we are
Reformed in theology, unhurried in practice
Covenant was chartered in 1962 and belongs to the Presbyterian Church USA and the Presbytery of Plains and Peaks. We are led by a session of elected elders alongside Rev. Miriam Cortez, who has served here since 2019. We are theologically Reformed and practically pretty relaxed, and about a third of the congregation grew up in some other tradition.

If you are new
What is the service like?
About 65 minutes, with hymns from the Glory to God hymnal, a choir anthem, scripture readings and a sermon of roughly twenty minutes. The order of service is printed in the bulletin so you can follow along, and nobody will ask you to stand up or introduce yourself.
Do I have to be Presbyterian to take communion?
No. The table belongs to Christ, not to this congregation, so all who trust him are welcome regardless of denomination or membership. We serve by intinction at the front, and gluten free bread and juice rather than wine are both available.
What do you believe about who is welcome here?
We are a More Light congregation, which means LGBTQ members participate fully in the life of the church including ordination and marriage. We say that plainly on the website because people should not have to guess before visiting.
How can I get involved beyond Sunday?
Start with the Wednesday supper, which needs cooks and servers and asks no commitment beyond showing up. Beyond that there is the Saturday pantry, the choir, and four mission partnerships. Talk to any usher and they will point you at a person, not a form.
