Monthly media relations retainer
Ongoing pitching, reporter relationships, reactive commentary and a monthly coverage report.
We pitch stories journalists can use, not press releases nobody opens. Product launches, funding announcements, executive profiles and the occasional bad week handled quietly.
Most clients start on a launch project and move to a monthly retainer.
Ongoing pitching, reporter relationships, reactive commentary and a monthly coverage report.
Six week sprint covering narrative, embargo outreach, briefings and day of coordination.
Bylines, podcast placements and speaking submissions built around one clear point of view.
Half day of recorded mock interviews with real reporter questions and playback.
We find the deadlines worth chasing and write the entries.
Holding statements, reporter handling and internal comms when something goes sideways.
Three of us came out of newsrooms and we still pitch the way we wanted to be pitched: a real story, an available source, no attachments. We cap the roster at nine clients because press relationships do not scale and a pitch from an agency that emails a reporter forty times a month gets filtered. If we do not think there is a story yet, we will say so before taking a retainer.
“They killed our press release and rebuilt the launch around a data story. We got trade coverage and two national pickups the same week.”
Sasha L., Series A founder
“Media training was uncomfortable and exactly what I needed before the earnings interviews.”
Dev K., Chief executive, consumer brand
“When a customer complaint went viral they had a statement drafted in ninety minutes and the story never grew.”
Nina H., Head of communications
No, and anyone who does is either paying for placements or misleading you. What we commit to is a defined number of targeted pitches, briefings booked and a monthly report showing exactly where your story went and where it stalled.
Trade coverage often lands in the first six to eight weeks. National business press typically takes three to six months of relationship building unless you have news big enough to skip the line. That is why we ask for a six month minimum.
It helps enormously. If there is no launch, funding, data or point of view yet, we usually recommend starting with thought leadership to build the founder's presence, then running a launch once there is something concrete to announce.
About two hours: one strategy call, quick turnaround on reporter questions and availability for briefings. Slow approvals are the single biggest reason a good story dies.
Send the news and the timeline. We will tell you on a 30 minute call whether it is a story and who would care.
