Fielder Commons has been owned by the same Ann Arbor family for 27 years. Our executive director has been here eleven years and most of our care staff have been here more than five, which residents and families notice more than any amenity list.

Questions families ask
How do I know which level of care is right?
A licensed nurse does a free assessment covering mobility, medication management, bathing and dressing, memory and nutrition. That evaluation drives the recommendation, and we will tell you when someone does not yet need assisted living.
What does the monthly rate include?
Rent, three meals a day, all utilities except phone, weekly housekeeping and laundry, scheduled transportation, activities and 24 hour staffing. Assisted living adds personal care and medication management at a level based rate.
Is there a large entrance fee?
No. Fielder Commons is month to month with a community fee at move in and no buy in or refundable entrance deposit. If circumstances change, a 30 day notice ends the agreement.
Does Medicare or insurance cover this?
Medicare does not pay for long term room and board in assisted living. Long term care insurance policies often do, and we help families submit documentation. Some residents also qualify for the VA Aid and Attendance benefit.
