About the quartet
The same four people, every time
The Marchetti Quartet formed in 2012 out of the University of Minnesota school of music and has kept the same first violin, second violin, viola and cello ever since. Everyone also plays with regional orchestras, which is why the ensemble sound is settled rather than assembled the week of your event.

FAQ
Booking a string quartet
How far in advance should we book?
Peak Saturdays from June through October usually book eight to twelve months out. Off season and weekday dates are often available within two months. We hold a date for seven days while you decide, without a deposit.
Can you play a song that is not classical?
Yes. Three custom arrangements are included with any quartet booking, and additional ones are $150 each. Send requests at least five weeks out so the arrangement can be written and rehearsed rather than sight read.
What do you need at an outdoor ceremony?
Level ground, shade if it is over 85 degrees, and four armless chairs. Instruments crack in direct sun and heat, so shade is not a preference. We bring our own quiet amplification if the space is large or windy.
What happens if a player gets sick?
We keep a short list of regular substitutes who already know our arrangements and have played with us. You will always get four players. In thirteen years we have never cancelled an event.
