How we install
The site visit is not optional for a reason
Cedar Ridge walks every site before quoting, because slope, buried utilities, tree limbs, and soil type all change what tent can safely go up. Installs happen two to four days before the event so there is time to solve surprises. Every tent is anchored to an engineered spec, whether that is stakes into soil or ballast on pavement.

Tent questions we get every spring
What size tent do I need?
For seated dining with round tables plan on about twelve square feet per guest, so 150 guests needs roughly 1,800 square feet before you add a bar, dance floor, or buffet. Those additions often push a 150 person wedding to a 40 by 80. We size it from your actual floor plan rather than a guest count alone.
Do I need a permit for a tent?
In most upstate towns yes, once the tent passes a size threshold or has sidewalls and heating. Requirements vary by municipality and the fire marshal may want to walk the site. We handle the filing as part of the job and will tell you at quoting whether your town requires it.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Tents are installed to an engineered wind rating and we monitor forecasts through your event weekend. If sustained winds are forecast beyond the rating, we will contact you about dropping sidewalls or, in rare cases, evacuating the tent. That call is about safety and it is not negotiable.
Can you tent on a driveway or over a pool?
On pavement yes, using ballast rather than stakes, which costs more and takes more room around the perimeter. Over a pool is possible with a proper platform but it is a specialty install that needs an early site visit. Either way tell us at quoting, not on install day.
