Vince Ottaviano opened Northgate in 2008 with eleven cars. We keep about eighty on the lot now and still buy roughly 70 percent of our inventory from local trades and estate sales rather than auction, because we can see how a car was kept. Our two technicians recondition everything on site, and any vehicle that fails inspection goes to wholesale instead of the front row.

Buying questions
Can I have my own mechanic inspect the car?
Yes, and we encourage it. We will hold the car for up to 24 hours and you can drive it to any shop in Allen County. If your mechanic finds something our inspection missed, we either fix it or the deal is off with no hard feelings.
What fees get added to the sticker price?
A $199 doc fee, Indiana sales tax, and title and plate fees at state cost. That is all. There is no reconditioning fee, no dealer prep, no market adjustment and no mandatory paint or fabric package.
Do you finance bad credit?
We work with nine lenders, two of which specialize in rebuilt or thin credit. Rates in that tier typically run 11 to 18 percent and usually need $1,500 down. We will tell you your real number before you sit at a desk.
Is there a return policy?
Indiana does not require one and most lots offer nothing. We give a 3 day, 150 mile exchange on any vehicle over $8,000, meaning you can swap into another car on the lot, though not get a cash refund.
