The same building on Ringgold Road since 1998
Dr. Whitfield opened Cedar Creek in 1998 and the practice has grown to four veterinarians and eleven technicians. We use fear free handling throughout, which mostly means slower exams, treats, and separate cat and dog waiting areas. If your pet needs an overnight specialist, we coordinate the referral and send the records ahead.

Questions we hear often
Do you take emergencies?
We hold same day slots for sick and injured pets during open hours, so call first thing and we will fit you in. Overnight and weekend emergencies go to the 24 hour hospital on Shallowford, and we follow up with you the next business day.
How often does my pet need an exam?
Once a year for healthy adult dogs and cats, twice a year after age seven. Older pets change quickly and a six month gap catches things like kidney and thyroid changes far earlier than an annual visit.
Is anesthesia safe for an older dog?
Age alone is not the risk, underlying disease is. We run pre-anesthetic bloodwork on every patient, place an IV catheter, and a technician monitors blood pressure and oxygen for the entire procedure. If the bloodwork raises a concern we talk through it before scheduling.
Can I get an estimate before I commit?
Yes, and we prefer it that way. You get a written estimate with a low and high range before any procedure, and we call you if anything during the procedure would push the cost above that range.
