Chips, cracks and claims
Can my chip be repaired, or do I need a new windshield?
As a rule, a chip smaller than a quarter and a crack shorter than six inches can be repaired, as long as it is not directly in the driver's line of sight and has not reached the edge of the glass. Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before we drive out.
Will insurance cover this?
Most Colorado comprehensive policies cover chip repair at no deductible, because repairing is far cheaper than replacing. Full replacement is usually covered subject to your comprehensive deductible. We verify your coverage on the phone before booking and bill the carrier directly.
Does a new windshield need ADAS recalibration?
If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera behind the mirror, which covers most 2018 and newer cars, then yes. Lane keeping and automatic braking rely on that camera's exact aim. We recalibrate to the manufacturer procedure and give you the printout.
How soon can I drive after a replacement?
One hour. We use a urethane with a tested one hour safe drive-away time at Denver temperatures. Leave a window cracked an inch for the first day and skip the automatic car wash for 48 hours.
