About the collective

Working musicians who serve churches

Ember Hill formed in 2017 out of two church teams in Chattanooga and now leads roughly forty weekends a year. Every member has served on a volunteer worship team, so the band knows the difference between playing well and leading a congregation that has to follow. Song lists are agreed at least two weeks out and rehearsed before we arrive.

•We learn your songs and your keys, not the other way round
•Own in ear system, so your monitors are not a problem to solve
•Sound engineer travels with the band on full bookings
•Happy to hand the platform to your own leader for part of the set
Energetic crowd at a live concert with hands raised and bright lights.
Reviews

From churches we have served

“Our regular leader was on sabbatical and I expected a rough month. The congregation sang louder than usual, which tells you everything.”

Pastor Grady H., Sunday services

“They ran three sessions a day at camp for a week and never coasted. The students knew every song by Wednesday.”

Renata O., Student camp, north Georgia

“Their engineer fixed a feedback problem in our sanctuary that we had lived with for two years.”

Doyle K., Conference weekend
FAQ

Questions from church staff

Do we pick the songs or do you?

You do. Send your list two weeks before the date, including keys and any arrangements your congregation is used to, and the band rehearses it. If you would rather we suggest a set, we will build one from songs your church already sings.

What sound equipment do we need to provide?

For a standard booking we need a house PA, a console with at least sixteen channels and stage power. We bring backline, in ears and mics. If your room has no system, the full production package brings everything including lighting.

How far will you travel?

Anywhere in Tennessee, north Georgia and western North Carolina at the standard rate. Beyond about a three hour drive we add travel and, for overnight dates, lodging. Multi day conferences further out are quoted as a package.

Can our own musicians play with you?

Yes, and many churches ask for it. Send us names and parts ahead of time so charts go out early, and plan for one rehearsal together before the service. We often have the local leader front part of the set.
