On Haywood Rd since 2016

Sixteen mats. That is the whole room.

Every class is capped so the teacher can actually see you and offer a hands on adjustment if you want one. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are here, you just need to show up.

The studio

A neighborhood studio, not a fitness chain

Nora Weller opened Willow Room in a former print shop in 2016 with eight mats and a space heater. It is still one room with one wall of windows, heated for the flow classes and left cool for yin. We keep classes small on purpose, which means we sell out most evenings, so booking ahead is worth it.

•No mirrors, no leaderboard, no one calling out your name
•Mats and props provided and cleaned between every class
•Consent cards on every mat so adjustments are always your call

Reviews

From students at the studio

“I had avoided yoga for years because big studios felt like a performance. Sixteen people and a teacher who remembers my knee changed that.”

Deb R., Slow flow regular

“Took the prenatal series through both pregnancies. The props and the modifications meant I could keep practicing into week 38.”

Alicia M., Prenatal, West Asheville

“The 6:30am flow is the only reason I get up. Sarah's playlists are better than they need to be.”

FAQ

Before your first class

I have never done yoga. Which class do I take?

Slow Flow or Foundations. Both move at a pace where the teacher names every pose and shows an easier option. Skip the heated Power class for your first month, it assumes you already know the shapes.

Do I need to bring a mat?

No. We keep mats, blocks, straps, blankets and bolsters at the studio and clean the mats after every class. If you would rather use your own, there is a rack by the door for it.

How hot is the heated class?

Around 90 degrees with some humidity, which is warm but not the 105 degree Bikram style. Yin, restorative and prenatal classes are not heated at all.

What happens if I book and cannot make it?

Cancel in the app up to two hours before and the class goes back on your pass. Inside two hours it counts as used, because classes are capped at 16 and someone on the waitlist could have taken your spot.
