Our programs
Ages 6 to 18, school year and summer
Enrollment is free. Sites are staffed at a ratio of one adult to twelve youth.
Middle school program, grades 7 to 8
Small group tutoring, a robotics and media lab, and a weekly conflict resolution circle.
Teen leadership track, grades 9 to 12
College and trade school advising, FAFSA nights and paid peer mentor positions for juniors and seniors.
Summer day camp
Eight weeks, 8am to 5pm, with swimming, field trips, breakfast and lunch, transportation from four pickup points.
Summer youth employment
Six week paid placements with local employers for ages 16 to 18, including interview and workplace coaching.
Family resource nights
Monthly evenings with benefits screening, school advocacy help and a shared meal.
About the Alliance
Built by parents who needed the 3pm to 6pm gap covered
A group of Glenville parents rented a church basement in 1998 because the recreation center had closed and kids had nowhere to go. Twenty seven years later we run four sites with 31 full time staff, most of whom grew up in these programs. We are funded by county levy dollars, foundations and individual donors, never by fees to families.

FAQ
Enrollment and program questions
Is there really no cost?
Correct, there is no fee for any program, including summer camp, meals and field trips. We are funded through the county children and family services levy, foundation grants and individual donors. Families are never asked to contribute and there is no waiting list fee.
How do I enroll my child?
Come to any site during program hours with a photo ID, your child's school and grade, and emergency contact information. Enrollment takes about twenty minutes and children can usually start the same day. Immunization records are needed within two weeks for summer camp only.
Is transportation provided?
During the school year we walk students from three partner schools to the nearest site, staffed both ways. For summer camp we run buses from four pickup points at 7:45am with return drop off at 5:15pm. Pickup point locations are posted each May.
What are the staff qualifications?
All staff pass state and FBI background checks before their first shift, hold current first aid and CPR certification, and complete 24 hours of training each year including trauma informed practice and de escalation. Program leads hold a degree or five years of youth development experience.
