Five roofing website designs, compared by what a homeowner needs to do

A homeowner on a roofer's site usually has a leak, a storm claim or an old roof. They want to know if someone will come and look, roughly what a new roof costs, and whether metal is worth it. The designs below answer those in different ways.

How these were picked

Two sample roofing sites from our library, one gutter installer (many roofers sell gutters too), one catalogue roofing template and one showcase build from a one-line prompt. For each we read the design and noted the first button, how prices are shown and what a homeowner still cannot do. Checked 27 September 2026. Every design here is from the We.Inc library and is labelled as a sample or template. None is a customer site, and no entry claims results.

1. Sturbridge Roofing

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A homeowner who wants to know whether they need a repair or a whole new roof.

Design choice: The headline is "A roof estimate that tells you what is wrong" and the first button is "Free inspection". "Repairs, replacements and everything in the gutter" prices each job for a typical 2,000 square foot home: Roof inspection and report Free, Architectural shingle replacement From $12,400, Standing seam metal roof From $28,500. The FAQ opens with "Do I need a new roof or just a repair?".

Limitation: "See our work" is a button, but there is no project gallery with before and after photos behind it. Add your own jobs, by street or suburb.

2. Ridgeline Roofing & Exteriors

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A homeowner with a leak or hail damage right now.

Design choice: "Your roof leaks now. We tarp today." with two buttons, "Free roof inspection" and "Call about a leak". The inspection is a "Roof inspection and hail report" you can hand to your adjuster, and the FAQ starts with "Will my insurance pay for a new roof?".

Limitation: The emergency promise is only a phone number. Add a short leak form (address, photo, is water coming in) so a homeowner can reach you when nobody picks up.

3. Ridgeline Seamless Gutters

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A roofer who also sells gutters and guards and wants that priced clearly.

Design choice: "One continuous run, no seams to leak", then per foot prices: 5 inch seamless aluminum gutter From $9 /linear ft and Micro-mesh gutter guards From $8 /linear ft. The FAQ asks "Are gutter guards worth the money?".

Limitation: Gutters only. Borrow its per foot pricing for your gutter page, not its services for your homepage.

4. Ironpeak Roofing

Business template from the We.Inc library. Open it

Task: A larger roofer that does residential and commercial work and offers financing.

Design choice: Ironpeak Roofing leads with "A roof that holds through every storm season" and "Book a Free Roof Inspection". A "Materials" section compares Architectural Asphalt Shingle, Standing-Seam Metal and Flat & Low-Slope Membrane, and "How a roof gets done right" lays out four steps from inspection to warranty.

Limitation: No prices anywhere, and the stats and ratings in the template (years, roofs installed, a 4.9 rating) are placeholders. Replace them with your own or delete them.

5. San Diego Roofing Co.

Showcase build from a one-line prompt (made-up business). Open it

Task: A roofer seeing what a one-line prompt produces before writing a real brief.

Design choice: Built from "A website for a roofers business in San Diego": "STORM DAMAGE? WE FIX IT FAST." with a "GET FREE ESTIMATE" button and "See recent projects".

Limitation: A one-line prompt gives generic results: a city skyline instead of a roof, and a stat bar with made-up figures ("450 Customer satisfaction rating"). Give the AI your services, prices and real photos.

Walkthrough: booking an inspection on the Sturbridge Roofing sample

  1. The homeowner lands on "A roof estimate that tells you what is wrong" with two buttons: "Free inspection" and "See our work".
  2. One scroll shows "Repairs, replacements and everything in the gutter", with a note that prices are typical for a 2,000 square foot Nashville home and confirmed after an inspection.
  3. "Our own crews, not a phone number and a subcontractor" explains who will be on the roof and what the warranty covers.
  4. The FAQ answers "Do I need a new roof or just a repair?" and "How long does a replacement take?", then "Get on the schedule for an inspection" says inspections take about forty five minutes.
  5. Gap to fix: the close only offers a phone call. Add a request form (address, roof age, what you are seeing, a photo) and put real jobs behind "See our work".

Questions

Do I need a new roof or just a repair?

The Sturbridge sample answers it by roof age and how widespread the damage is, and says a single leak on a sound roof is a repair. On your site, say how you decide and that you will tell the homeowner when a repair is enough.

How long does a replacement take?

The sample says a typical home takes one day, occasionally two, and that it will not start a tear off unless the weather allows drying in the same day. Give your real timings for shingle, metal and flat roofs.

What makes this roofing website work

It leads with a promise, not a job title

The first thing a visitor reads is "A roof estimate that tells you what is wrong", with "Roofing Nashville since 2006" set above it as a small label. The line underneath does the explaining: "We photograph every problem area, explain whether you need a repair or a replacement, and give you a written price that does not change once the shingles come off." Two buttons follow, "Free inspection" for people ready to act and "See our work" for people who want to look around first. The layout is a banded hero, a wide strip of footage under a short headline block, using looping stock footage instead of a static photo.

Numbers before adjectives

Directly below the hero, a strip of 4 short facts does the job most roofing sites leave to vague words like "trusted" or "experienced": 19 yrs (in business), 2,100+ (roofs replaced), 10 yr (workmanship warranty) and 1 to 2 days (typical install). Each one is something a customer can check or hold the business to.

Every service has a price

The "Repairs, replacements and everything in the gutter" section lists 6 roofing services: Roof inspection and report (Free), Architectural shingle replacement (From $12,400), Standing seam metal roof (From $28,500), Flat and low slope roofing (From $9,800), Leak repair (From $475) and Gutters and gutter guards (From $9 per foot). Prices run from $9 to $28,500, so a visitor can tell in seconds whether it fits the budget. A one-line note sets the terms: "Prices below are typical for a 2,000 square foot Nashville home and are confirmed after an inspection." Each item gets a sentence of its own, for example "Full walk of the roof with photos of every flashing, vent and problem area, emailed to you."

The about section is specific

Under the heading "Our own crews, not a phone number and a subcontractor", the about section says: "Wes Sturbridge started this company off a single truck in 2006 after five years installing for someone else. We run three crews, all on our own payroll and carrying workers compensation." It then lists 4 concrete points instead of a paragraph of values: licensed and insured in Tennessee with workers compensation on every crew, ten year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's material warranty, magnetic nail sweep of the entire yard and driveway before we leave and we meet your insurance adjuster on the roof at no charge.

Reviews with a who and a where

There are 3 reviews, each signed with a name and a context (Diane L., leak repair, East Nashville; Paulo R., full replacement, Hendersonville; Kim H., hail claim, Mount Juliet). None of them says "great service". They mention a specific moment, like "Wes met my adjuster on the roof and got two slopes added to the claim that had been denied."

Questions a buyer asks before calling

The FAQ covers 4 questions: "Do I need a new roof or just a repair?", "How long does a replacement take?", "Will my insurance cover it?" and "What kind of warranty do I get?". The answers are direct. The first one reads: "It depends on the age of the roof and whether the damage is isolated. If shingles are curling and losing granules across the whole roof and it is past twenty years, replacement is usually the better spend."

It tells people what happens next

The page closes on "Get on the schedule for an inspection". It sets expectations before anyone gets in touch: "Inspections are free and take about forty five minutes. We send photos and a written price within one business day." Hours are written out (Mon to Fri 7am to 5pm, Sat by appointment) and so is the area covered (Nashville, Hendersonville, Brentwood, Mount Juliet, Franklin). The phone number also sits in the header on every scroll position, so nobody has to hunt for it.

The design stays out of the way

The palette is three colors: a #f2f2f0 background, #15181c text and one accent (#c2410c) used only for buttons and labels. Headings are set in a sans-serif face and buttons have 2px rounded corners. The menu has 6 items (Services, Pricing, About, Reviews, FAQ and Contact), all on one page, so it scrolls instead of making people click through.
