Six therapy practice website designs, compared by how a client starts

Someone looking for a therapist wants to know whether the practice treats what they are dealing with, what a session costs, how long the wait is and how to make first contact without pressure. These designs handle that differently.

How these were picked

Five sample sites from our library, each a different kind of practice (group practice, couples only, child play therapy, psychology with testing, outpatient addiction counseling), plus one catalogue template. We dropped samples that repeat the group-practice pattern. For each we read the sample and noted the first button, how fees are shown and what is missing. Checked 27 September 2026. Every design here is from the We.Inc library and is labelled as a sample or template. None is a customer site, and no entry claims results.

1. Northbank Counseling

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: An adult who wants the right match, not whoever is free.

Design choice: "Therapy that fits what you are actually facing" with "Request a consult" first, and a fee list: Individual therapy, 50 minutes $175; Couples therapy, 60 minutes $215; Initial intake session $195; a free fifteen-minute consult call.

Limitation: The consult request is a phone call. There is no short form to say what is going on, which some people find easier than calling.

2. Northbridge Couples Therapy

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A couple stuck in the same argument.

Design choice: "The same fight, in a room with a referee" and "We only see couples.". Sessions are eighty minutes as standard ($225), and the close asks for "Both of you on the call".

Limitation: No individual therapy at all, so it only fits a couples-only practice.

3. Blue Kite Child Therapy

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A parent whose young child cannot put a problem into words.

Design choice: "Children work things out by playing" with a free "Parent consultation call" and parent coaching built in ("Every fourth session is with parents alone").

Limitation: The FAQ is strong on privacy but there is no page for schools, even though it offers "School consultation" at $120 per hour.

4. Lakeshore Psychology Group

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: Someone who wants therapy with a visible plan, or a formal assessment.

Design choice: "Therapy with a plan you can see" with "Request an intake", and therapy listed next to testing: ADHD assessment $1,450, Learning disability evaluation $1,900.

Limitation: Assessments and therapy share one list. A parent looking only for testing has to read past the therapy fees.

5. Clearwater Counseling

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A working adult who needs help with drinking or drug use without leaving their job.

Design choice: "Help that fits around work and family" with evening groups, an "Ask about cost" button and a clear privacy answer to "Will my employer or family find out?".

Limitation: Groups and the intensive program are described, but there is no weekly schedule a visitor can scan in one place.

6. Haven Therapy

Healthcare template from the We.Inc library. Open it

Task: A group practice that wants a calm, modern layout to start from.

Design choice: A catalogue template for a made-up practice: "Talk it through with a therapist who has room for you this month", "Accepting new clients" and a "Request a first session" button.

Limitation: The menu has a "Fees & insurance" link but the preview shows no fee section behind it. You write it, along with your own wait time.

Walkthrough: finding the cost and first step on the Northbank sample

  1. The visitor lands on "Therapy that fits what you are actually facing" and a line offering a "Free fifteen-minute consult call before you commit to anyone".
  2. "Sessions and fees" lists Individual therapy, 50 minutes ($175), Couples therapy, 60 minutes ($215) and Initial intake session ($195), plus sliding scale slots from $85.
  3. The FAQ answers "Do you take insurance?" and "How long is the wait for a first appointment?" (usually one to two weeks).
  4. The close, "Take the first step", says the intake coordinator replies within one business day.
  5. Gap to fix: add a short, optional contact form (name, phone or email, best time to call) that emails the practice, with a note not to include clinical details.

Copyable build brief

A website for [practice name], a [type of practice] in [city]. Lead with what clients are facing, not our name. List each service with length and fee: [individual session], [couples session], [intake session], and say whether we offer sliding scale slots. Add a free consult call button and a short contact form that emails us and asks for no clinical details. Include an FAQ on insurance (which plans we are in network with, or that we give a superbill), the typical wait for a first appointment and what the first session covers, plus clinician bios, hours, area served and the 988 crisis line.

What We.Inc does and does not do here

Client records and intake paperworkNot handled. The site is a public brochure with a contact form that emails you; keep clinical intake in your practice management system.
InsuranceThe site lists the plans you accept. It does not check anyone's coverage; you do that as you do today.
Publishing for freeFree plan: up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address. No AI credits and no custom domain.
Having the AI write and change the sitePaid plans: Starter $20/mo, Pro $50/mo, Max $99/mo. You describe the business, then edit by clicking or by asking in chat.
Your own domainPaid plans only.
Taking paymentsThrough your own Stripe account, so the money goes to you. We.Inc does not hold funds.
FormsThe AI builds contact and request forms. A synced booking calendar is not built in: link the scheduling tool you already use.

Questions

Do you take insurance?

The samples name the plans they are in network with and offer a superbill otherwise. On your site, list your actual panels and say what an out-of-network client pays. The website itself does not check coverage.

How long is the wait for a first appointment?

Northbank says one to two weeks and Clearwater three to five days, both made-up figures. Publish your own current wait and keep it honest; it is one of the first things people look for.

What makes this therapist website work

It leads with a promise, not a job title

The first thing a visitor reads is "Therapy that fits what you are actually facing", with "A group practice since 2014" set above it as a small label. The line underneath does the explaining: "Seven licensed clinicians with different specialties, so the match matters more than the waitlist. Free fifteen-minute consult call before you commit to anyone." Two buttons follow, "Request a consult" for people ready to act and "Meet the clinicians" for people who want to look around first. The layout is a banded hero, a wide strip of footage under a short headline block, using looping stock footage instead of a static photo.

Numbers before adjectives

Directly below the hero, a strip of 4 short facts does the job most therapist sites leave to vague words like "trusted" or "experienced": 7 (licensed clinicians), 11 yrs (as a practice), 15 min (free consult call) and 1 to 2 wks (typical wait for a first session). Each one is something a customer can check or hold the business to.

Every service has a price

The "Sessions and fees" section lists 6 how we work: Individual therapy, 50 minutes ($175), Couples therapy, 60 minutes ($215), Initial intake session ($195), Telehealth sessions (Same as in office), Sliding scale slots (From $85) and Free consult call (Free). Prices run from $85 to $215, so a visitor can tell in seconds whether it fits the budget. A one-line note sets the terms: "Fees below are our private-pay rates. Insured clients pay their plan's copay." Each item gets a sentence of its own, for example "Weekly or biweekly, in office or by secure video."

The about section is specific

Under the heading "Different specialties, one intake conversation", the about section says: "Northbank started in 2014 as two therapists sharing an office and now has seven clinicians licensed in Oregon as LPCs, LCSWs and a psychologist. Specialties include anxiety, trauma, grief, perinatal mental health and couples work." It then lists 3 concrete points instead of a paragraph of values: all clinicians licensed in Oregon and independently credentialed, in-person and telehealth offered by every clinician and we hold a set of reduced-fee slots each quarter.

Reviews with a who and a where

There are 3 reviews, each signed with a name and a context (J. R., Individual therapy; Alexis M., Couples therapy; D. P., Anxiety, weekly sessions). None of them says "great service". They mention a specific moment, like "Telehealth meant we could keep going after we moved to Bend without starting over."

Questions a buyer asks before calling

The FAQ covers 4 questions: "Do you take insurance?", "How long is the wait for a first appointment?", "What if my therapist is not the right fit?" and "Is telehealth as effective as being in the room?". The answers are direct. The first one reads: "Several of our clinicians are in network with Regence, Providence, PacificSource and Moda. Coverage varies by clinician, so we verify your specific benefit before your first session and tell you your expected cost."

It tells people what happens next

The page closes on "Take the first step". It sets expectations before anyone gets in touch: "Request a free consult call and our intake coordinator will get back to you within one business day." Hours are written out (Mon to Thu 8am to 7pm, Fri 8am to 3pm, evening slots limited) and so is the area covered (Portland metro in person, anywhere in Oregon by telehealth). The phone number also sits in the header on every scroll position, so nobody has to hunt for it.

The design stays out of the way

The palette is three colors: a #f6f5f1 background, #1c2333 text and one accent (#1e4b8f) used only for buttons and labels. Headings are set in a serif face and buttons have 8px rounded corners. The menu has 6 items (Services, Pricing, About, Reviews, FAQ and Contact), all on one page, so it scrolls instead of making people click through.

Every service and price, as the site lists it
