Six small business website designs, compared by what a customer needs to do

Whatever the trade, most customers arrive with the same three jobs: ask for a quote or a booking, find out roughly what it costs, and decide whether to trust the business. The six sample designs below come from very different trades and each handles those jobs in its own way.

How these were picked

We picked one sample site from six different kinds of small business (home services, food, professional services, health, retail and outdoor work). All are made-up businesses our AI built for the library. For each we read the live sample and noted the first button, how prices are shown and what a customer cannot do yet. Checked 27 September 2026. Every design here is from the We.Inc library and is labelled as a sample or template. None is a customer site, and no entry claims results.

1. Bright Fork Electric

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A homeowner who needs an electrician and is worried about the final bill.

Design choice: The headline is the promise ("Flat rate quoted before we touch a wire"), with "Get a quote" and "Call 24 hours" side by side. Services carry starting prices, from a $89 service call to a panel upgrade from $2,400.

Limitation: The contact section mentions a form for scheduled work, but the sample only shows a phone button. Make sure the quote form is actually on the page.

2. North Bell Coffee

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A regular who wants beans at home, or a cafe owner looking for a supplier.

Design choice: "Roasted here Tuesday, in your cup Thursday", with "Shop beans" and "Start a subscription" as the two buttons, and the wholesale program listed next to the drinks menu.

Limitation: Selling beans and subscriptions needs a shop or checkout. Link the store you already use, or take payments through your own Stripe account.

3. Harbor Ledger CPAs

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A small business owner comparing accountants on cost.

Design choice: "Know your tax bill in October, not April" and a "See our pricing" button. The FAQ "How much do you charge?" gives real starting fees instead of "contact us".

Limitation: The consultation is booked by phone. A short form (entity type, rough revenue, what you need) would let owners ask outside office hours.

4. Riverstone Chiropractic

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A new patient who wants to know how many visits it will take.

Design choice: "A plan with an end date, not endless visits", with cash prices shown and a line saying insured patients pay their copay instead. The FAQ answers "How many visits will I need?".

Limitation: "Check your insurance" means calling the office. The site does not verify coverage; it can only collect the request.

5. Wren & Thistle Flowers

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: Someone who needs flowers delivered today, or a couple planning a wedding.

Design choice: Two paths from the first screen: "Order flowers" and "Wedding inquiries". The noon cutoff for same day delivery is in the opening line, and wedding florals start from $2,800.

Limitation: Ordering online needs a shop or checkout you connect. The sample shows prices but not how an order is actually placed.

6. Ironbark Tree Care

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A homeowner with a tree over the roof after a storm.

Design choice: "The tree over your roof, handled properly", with "Request a quote" and "Storm emergency" as separate buttons. The FAQ gives a real cost range for removal and covers insurance claims honestly.

Limitation: People asking for a tree quote want to send photos. The sample has no photo upload, so add one to the quote form.

Walkthrough: asking for a quote on the Bright Fork Electric sample

  1. The visitor lands on "Flat rate quoted before we touch a wire" with "Get a quote" and "Call 24 hours".
  2. "Residential and light commercial electrical" lists each job with a starting price, from the $89 service call to a whole home rewire from $9,500.
  3. "Family owned, seven trucks, one service area" and the bullet list cover licensing, permits and the warranty.
  4. The FAQ answers "Do I need a 200 amp panel?" and what after hours calls cost, then "Book an electrician" gives hours and the service area.
  5. Gap to fix: add the quote form the page promises (job type, address, photos, preferred time) so non-urgent jobs do not depend on a phone call.

Copyable build brief

A website for [business name], a [trade] in [city] serving [area]. Lead with the customer's problem and one promise we keep, with two buttons: [main action, e.g. Get a quote / Book / Order] and Call. List our main services with a starting price or how we price. Add a request form that asks [the three things we need to know], a short section on who we are and our licences or credentials, an FAQ on cost, timing and [our most common question], and our hours, address and service area.

Prices on the page

The 358 examples list 2138 services between them and 2138 of those carry a price. A visitor who can see "from $450" decides faster than one asked to call for a quote.

Reviews that name a detail

There are 1004 reviews across the gallery, each signed with a first name and a context (a job, a town, an occasion). Specific praise reads as believable; "great service" does not.

An FAQ that answers objections

Every example ends with an FAQ, 1432 questions in total. They cover cost, timing and what the customer needs to prepare, which is what stops people from getting in touch.

Motion in the first screen

358 of 358 open on looping stock footage instead of a still photo, with the headline over or beside it. The headline itself promises an outcome rather than naming the trade.

One page, one scroll

Each example is a single page with a short menu of anchor links (services, pricing, about, reviews, FAQ, contact), so a phone visitor scrolls instead of hunting through tabs.

Contact that sets expectations

The last section says what to send and when you will hear back, lists hours and the area served, and the phone number stays in the header the whole way down.

Made with We.Inc

Every site in this gallery is a sample our AI built to show what it produces for a given trade. The businesses, names, phone numbers, prices and reviews are made up. None of these are customer sites.
