Insurance Agency Website Examples: What Works and How to Build Yours

Sample site built by our AI, not a customer site. Foothill Insurance Group is a made-up business; our AI wrote every section, from the headline to the 4-question FAQ. Independent insurance agency in Boise quoting home, auto, business, umbrella and life coverage across a dozen carriers. One call and a free policy review.

Five insurance agency website designs, compared by what a client needs to do

A person on an insurance agency's site usually wants a quote for home, auto or business cover, a reason to use an agent instead of buying direct, and a sense of what happens at renewal. The designs below approach that from a multi-line agency, two single-line agencies, a life insurance agent and a catalogue template.

How these were picked

Four sample sites from our library, each a different kind of agency, plus one catalogue template. For each we read the sample and noted the first button, which lines of cover are shown and how prices or quotes are handled. Checked 27 September 2026. Every design here is from the We.Inc library and is labelled as a sample or template. None is a customer site, and no entry claims results.

1. Foothill Insurance Group

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A household that wants home, auto and business cover compared in one place.

Design choice: "One call, twelve carriers, real comparison" with "Get a quote" and "Free policy review". "Personal and commercial lines" gives each line its own card and a "Free quote" label. The FAQ opens with "Does using an independent agent cost more?" and answers no, in plain terms.

Limitation: The close, "Get a real comparison", asks you to send your declarations page but offers only a phone number. Add a secure upload or quote form.

2. Cypress Row Home Insurance

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A coastal homeowner worried about storm, wind and flood gaps.

Design choice: "The cheap policy is the one that fails after a storm" with "Get a quote" and "Check my coverage". "Homeowners, wind, flood and the gaps between" separates Windstorm and hail coverage from Flood insurance. The FAQ covers "What is a percentage wind deductible?".

Limitation: Home only. If you also write auto or business, this layout needs more lines added.

3. Fairlane Auto Insurance Agency

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A driver whose premium went up at renewal.

Design choice: "Your rate went up because nobody reshopped it" with "Get a quote" and "Review my policy". "Cars, trucks, teens and the tricky cases" covers SR-22 filings, teen drivers and "Home and auto bundling". The close is "Bring us your declarations page".

Limitation: No business or commercial auto line, and the quote path is phone only.

4. Tanner Kemp Life Insurance

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: An agency that wants a separate page to explain life cover honestly.

Design choice: "Most families need term, and we will tell you so" with "Get quotes" and "Term or whole life". The FAQ answers "How much coverage do I actually need?" and "Does it cost more to buy through an agent?".

Limitation: Life only. Useful as a pattern for one line of cover, not as the home page of a multi-line agency.

5. Beacon Insurance

Business template from the We.Inc library. Open it

Task: An independent agency that wants a short, calm page covering all four main lines.

Design choice: Beacon Insurance is a catalogue template: "Coverage chosen for your life, not sold off a script." with "Get a quote" and "See what we cover". "Four ways we cover the people who walk in." lists Auto, Home, Life and Commercial, and the close is "Tell us what you drive, own, or run."

Limitation: No prices, reviews or FAQ. You add your carriers, licence details, renewal process and the questions clients ask you.

Walkthrough: asking for a home and auto quote on the Foothill sample

  1. The visitor lands on "One call, twelve carriers, real comparison" with "Get a quote" and "Free policy review".
  2. "Personal and commercial lines" shows Home insurance, Auto insurance, Business insurance and Umbrella liability, each with a line on what is compared.
  3. "We work for you, not for one insurance company" explains what an independent agent does differently.
  4. The FAQ answers "How much home coverage do I actually need?" and "How long does a quote take?".
  5. Gap to fix: the close asks for a declarations page but only shows a phone number. Add a quote form with line of cover, renewal date and a file upload.

Copyable build brief

A website for [agency name], an independent insurance agency in [city], licensed in [states]. Lead with a "Get a quote" button. Give home, auto, business, umbrella and life cover their own short sections, each saying what we compare. Explain what an independent agent is and how we are paid. Add an FAQ on cost, how much cover people need and how long a quote takes, a quote form that asks for the line of cover and renewal date, our licence numbers and our office address.

Questions

Does using an independent agent cost more?

The Foothill sample says no, because carriers pay commission out of the same premium, and that the difference is that an agent compares companies. If that is how you are paid, say so on your site in plain terms.

How much home coverage do I actually need?

The sample answers: enough to rebuild at today's construction cost, which is often more than the purchase price. Give your own answer for your area and offer a policy review.

What makes this insurance website work

It leads with a promise, not a job title

The first thing a visitor reads is "One call, twelve carriers, real comparison", with "Independent since 2007" set above it as a small label. The line underneath does the explaining: "We are not tied to one company, so we shop your home and auto across a dozen carriers and show you what each one actually covers." Two buttons follow, "Get a quote" for people ready to act and "Free policy review" for people who want to look around first. The layout is a split hero, copy on one side and footage on the other, using looping stock footage instead of a static photo.

Numbers before adjectives

Directly below the hero, a strip of 4 short facts does the job most insurance sites leave to vague words like "trusted" or "experienced": 18 yrs (in the Treasure Valley), 12 (carriers we quote), 24 hr (quote turnaround) and Free (policy review). Each one is something a customer can check or hold the business to.

Every service has a price

The "Personal and commercial lines" section lists 6 coverage we write: Home insurance (Free quote), Auto insurance (Free quote), Business insurance (Free quote), Umbrella liability (From $215 per yr), Life insurance (Free quote) and Annual policy review (Free). A one-line note sets the terms: "Bundling home and auto with the same carrier saves most Idaho households real money, and we check that automatically." Each item gets a sentence of its own, for example "Replacement cost review, wildfire exposure and deductible options across all our carriers."

The about section is specific

Under the heading "We work for you, not for one insurance company", the about section says: "A captive agent can only sell you what their company offers. As an independent agency we place your policy with whichever of our carriers fits best, and when your renewal comes in with an increase we can move you instead of just apologizing." It then lists 4 concrete points instead of a paragraph of values: licensed in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, twelve carrier appointments including regional and national companies, we handle claims advocacy at no charge to clients and renewals re shopped automatically each year.

Reviews with a who and a where

There are 2 reviews, each signed with a name and a context (Greg S., Home and auto, Eagle; Tasha W., Home claim, Meridian). None of them says "great service". They mention a specific moment, like "When we had the hail claim they called the adjuster for us twice. That is not something my old agent ever did."

Questions a buyer asks before calling

The FAQ covers 4 questions: "Does using an independent agent cost more?", "How much home coverage do I actually need?", "Is an umbrella policy worth it?" and "How long does a quote take?". The answers are direct. The first one reads: "No. Carriers pay agent commissions out of the same premium whether you buy direct, through a captive agent or through us."

It tells people what happens next

The page closes on "Get a real comparison". It sets expectations before anyone gets in touch: "Send us your current declarations page and we will show you what a dozen carriers would charge for the same coverage." Hours are written out (Mon to Fri 8am to 5:30pm, Sat by appointment) and so is the area covered (Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Star). The phone number also sits in the header on every scroll position, so nobody has to hunt for it.

The design stays out of the way

The palette is three colors: a #f6f5f1 background, #1c2333 text and one accent (#1e4b8f) used only for buttons and labels. Headings are set in a serif face and buttons have 8px rounded corners. The menu has 6 items (Services, Pricing, About, Reviews, FAQ and Contact), all on one page, so it scrolls instead of making people click through.
