Six hair salon website designs, compared by what a client needs to do

A client choosing a salon wants a price for the service they have in mind, to see the stylists' work, and to book. Colour clients also want to know whether they need a consultation first. The designs below range from an eight chair salon to one independent stylist.

How these were picked

Four sample sites (two salons, an independent stylist and a natural hair studio), one salon and spa template and one showcase build. For each we read the design and noted the first button, how colour is priced and what a client still has to ask. Checked 27 September 2026. Every design here is from the We.Inc library and is labelled as a sample or template. None is a customer site, and no entry claims results.

1. Verdant Hair Studio

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A colour client who wants a consultation before committing.

Design choice: "A color consult before you sit in the chair" with "Book online" and "Free consult". Haircut and style from $75, Full balayage from $265, Root touch up from $95. The FAQ opens with "Why do I need a consultation first?".

Limitation: No stylist bios or photos of work on the page. Add both; colour clients choose by the stylist.

2. Foxglove Hair Studio

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A client who has been given the wrong haircut before.

Design choice: "The haircut you asked for, not the one we felt like" with "Book online" and "Meet the stylists". Cut and style from $65, Balayage or foil highlights from $185, Single process color from $95. The FAQ covers "What if I do not like my hair?".

Limitation: Balayage and highlights share one price, which hides the difference in time. Split them if they cost different amounts.

3. Kai Bramwell Hair

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A client who wants one stylist, start to finish.

Design choice: "One chair, one client, no rushing" with "Request a booking" and "See my work". Cut and finish $85, Lived in balayage from $240, Root touch up and gloss $120, and the section title promises the time each one takes.

Limitation: "See my work" needs a real gallery; the sample has none.

4. Coil & Crown Natural Hair Studio

Sample site built by our AI (made-up business). Open it

Task: A client with textured hair looking for specialists.

Design choice: "Your texture is not a problem to fix" with "Book an appointment" and "Free consultation". Silk press, loc retwist, knotless braids and curl cut, each with a starting price, and an FAQ on whether to arrive with hair washed.

Limitation: No colour services. That is fine for a specialist, but say so.

5. Lumé Salon & Beauty Spa

Business template from the We.Inc library. Open it

Task: A salon that also offers skin and spa services.

Design choice: "Beauty, composed." with "Book an appointment". Hair prices sit next to Skin & Spa: Signature cut & finish from $95, Balayage & gloss from $240, Full colour transformation from $320.

Limitation: Sample stats in the first screen (a rating and an appointment count). Remove them unless they are yours.

6. Salon Minneapolis

Showcase build from a one-line prompt (made-up business). Open it

Task: A salon that wants to show how full the day is.

Design choice: "Great hair transforms everything" with "Book appointment" and "Read the price and time list". Beside the photo is a day planner with booked Haircuts and Hair treatments slots and the lunch break.

Limitation: The planner is a picture, not a live calendar. Link your real booking tool so the open times are true.

Questions

Why do I need a consultation first?

The Verdant sample says a consult lets the colourist check your hair's history and give a real price. Say what yours covers and whether it is free.

How often should I come in for balayage?

The sample gives a range of weeks rather than a fixed rule. Give yours and say it depends on the look.

What makes this hair salon website work

The headline sells an outcome

The first thing a visitor reads is "A color consult before you sit in the chair", with "On South First since 2016" set above it as a small label. The line underneath does the explaining: "Every color service starts with a free fifteen minute consultation so we agree on the result, the number of sessions and the price before we mix anything." Two buttons follow, "Book online" for people ready to act and "Free consult" for people who want to look around first. The layout is a framed hero, with the headline beside a boxed video panel, using looping stock footage instead of a static photo.

A strip of hard facts

Directly below the hero, a strip of 4 short facts does the job most hair salon sites leave to vague words like "trusted" or "experienced": 10 yrs (on South First), 8 (stylists), Free (color consultation) and 2 wk (adjustment window). Each one is something a customer can check or hold the business to.

The menu of services is priced

The "Cut, color and everything between" section lists 6 services: Haircut and style (From $75), Full balayage (From $265), Root touch up (From $95), Gray blending (From $135), Corrective color (From $150/hour) and Gloss and toner refresh ($65). Prices run from $65 to $265, so a visitor can tell in seconds whether it fits the budget. A one-line note sets the terms: "Prices start at the level shown and vary with hair length and density, always quoted at consultation." Each item gets a sentence of its own, for example "Consultation, cut, and a blow dry with styling notes for maintaining it at home."

A story with checkable details

Under the heading "Eight chairs and a lot of natural light", the about section says: "Verdant opened on South First in 2016 with three stylists and now runs eight chairs. We are a consultation first studio, which mostly means nobody gets talked into platinum in one session when their hair will not survive it." It then lists 3 concrete points instead of a paragraph of values: free consultation before every color service, two week window for adjustments at no charge and free lot parking behind the building.

Testimonials that say something

There are 3 reviews, each signed with a name and a context (Jordan M., color client; Beth K., Travis Heights; Sofia C., color correction). None of them says "great service". They mention a specific moment, like "First cut in years where the grow out still looked intentional at week ten."

It answers the questions people are afraid to ask

The FAQ covers 4 questions: "Why do I need a consultation first?", "How often should I come in for balayage?", "What if I do not like the result?" and "Do you have a cancellation policy?". The answers are direct. The first one reads: "Because color prices depend on your current hair, not a menu. A fifteen minute consult lets us test a strand, agree on the result, tell you honestly how many sessions it will take, and give you a firm price."

Contact is a single clear ask

The page closes on "Book your appointment". It sets expectations before anyone gets in touch: "Book online any time or call during studio hours. If you are not sure what to book, ask for a consultation and we will sort it out together." Hours are written out (Tue to Fri 10am to 8pm, Sat 9am to 6pm, Sun and Mon closed) and so is the area covered (South Austin, Bouldin Creek, Travis Heights, Zilker). The phone number also sits in the header on every scroll position, so nobody has to hunt for it.

The design stays out of the way

The palette is three colors: a #f4f7f5 background, #16302c text and one accent (#0f766e) used only for buttons and labels. Headings are set in a serif face and buttons have 10px rounded corners. The menu has 6 items (Services, Pricing, About, Reviews, FAQ and Contact), all on one page, so it scrolls instead of making people click through.

Every service and price, as the site lists it
