A website platform for government agencies and their departments

Cities, counties and agencies rarely have one website. They have a main site plus parks, library, utilities, recreation, a mayor’s initiative and a dozen program pages built by whoever had time. We.Inc lets each department build its own site under the government’s brand, with the central web team setting who can publish and approving what goes live. This page lists exactly what the platform does today, what it does not, and what you would still have to do yourself.

TL;DR

The problem this solves

Most public-sector web teams are small, and most of the content comes from departments. That produces three familiar problems:

  1. Bottlenecks. Every change goes through two people in IT or communications, so departments either wait weeks or start their own sites on whatever tool they can expense.
  2. Brand drift. Those side sites use different logos, colours and footers, and residents cannot tell which ones are official.
  3. Accessibility debt. With the ADA Title II web rule now applying from April 26, 2027 (entities of 50,000 people or more) or April 26, 2028 (smaller entities and special districts), every unmanaged site is a liability. See the Title II deadline guide.

A white-label platform puts the department sites back inside one system: the central team owns the brand and the rules, and departments do the work.

How it would work for a city

WhoWhat they do in We.Inc
Central web or communications team (owner and admins)Set up the platform under the city’s name, logo and colours on the city’s own domain. Invite departments. Decide who needs approval before publishing.
Department publisher (member)Describes the site they need (“parks department: facilities, permits, seasonal programs, contact”), and the AI builds a first version. Edits by clicking any element or asking in chat. Submits for approval.
ApproverReviews the site and approves it to go live.
EveryoneCan see in the audit log which organisation actions were taken and by whom.

What you would still need to do

When We.Inc is not the right fit

If you are not sure which accessibility law applies

Federal agencies follow Section 508, state and local governments follow ADA Title II, and many funded health and education bodies also fall under Section 504. Our comparison of Section 508, ADA Title II and WCAG puts them in one table.

Frequently asked questions

Can each department have its own website under the government brand?

Yes. Each department or program can have its own site on your domain, using your name, logo and colours, while the central team controls who can publish.

Can the central web team approve sites before they go live?

Yes. Approval before publishing can be required by default and set per site. It is a single approval step, not a multi-stage workflow.

Are sites built on We.Inc WCAG 2.1 AA compliant?

We do not claim that. Sites are built with AI, and your team must test each site against WCAG 2.1 AA and fix what it finds before publishing.

Can we take our sites with us if we leave?

Yes. You can download the full code of any site or sync it to your own GitHub account.

How is pricing set for government agencies?

Pricing depends on the number of departments and sites. It is quoted on a demo call.
