Squarespace raised prices on three of its four plans in July 2026. Here are the old and new prices from the reporting, what it means when you renew, and an honest way to decide whether to stay or move. Note: on September 27, 2026 Squarespace's US pricing page listed Basic $12, Core $17 and Advanced $25 a month billed annually ($19, $27 and $36 month to month), so check your own renewal email and billing page for the price you will actually pay.

According to PetaPixel (July 17, 2026), annual-billing prices went from $16 to $19 a month for Basic (up 19%), $23 to $29 for Core (up 26%) and $39 to $49 for Plus (up 26%). Advanced stayed at $99. On monthly billing, Core went from $36 to $39 and Plus from $56 to $65, while Basic ($25) and Advanced ($139) did not change.
Squarespace told customers by email rather than a public announcement, PetaPixel reports. TechRadar (July 29, 2026) says three of four plans rose by 18% to 26%, "although existing customers may see smaller increases". So the number that matters is the one in your own renewal email and billing page.

Best for: Sites that lean on Squarespace commerce, scheduling or member areas, where moving costs more than the increase

On annual billing, Core now costs $348 a year instead of $276, and Plus costs $588 instead of $468. Those are the list prices; the reports say Squarespace emailed customers directly and that existing customers may see smaller increases, so open the email, then check the billing settings in your Squarespace account for the exact amount and date.
Squarespace's explanation, given to TechRadar: "We recently added to every website plan capabilities previously available only on higher-tier plans or through third-party services, and we are continually investing in our platform to help customers build and grow their businesses."
Stay if your site runs on Squarespace-specific features you actively use: a store with many products, bookings, member areas or email campaigns. Rebuilding those somewhere else takes real time, and the yearly increase on Basic is $36.
Consider moving if your site is a handful of pages (home, services, about, contact, maybe a gallery) and you mostly pay to keep it online. That kind of site is the easiest to rebuild, and the one where a price rise buys you least.
Either way, compare the full yearly cost at renewal, not the first-year price. Many builders show a low introductory rate that goes up when you renew.
Squarespace does not export your design or pages in a way other builders can import; blog posts can be exported, but the rest is a rebuild on any platform. We.Inc does not have an automatic Squarespace importer either.
