Bing Places for Business: A Plain Setup Guide

Bing Places for Business is Microsoft's free tool for listing a business on Bing search results and Bing Maps. Since October 2025 it lives at bing.com/forbusiness instead of bingplaces.com. If you already have a Google Business Profile, you can import it, which carries over details such as your name, hours and contact information.

Updated

Most small businesses set up Google first and forget Bing. Bing Places takes a few minutes once your Google profile is in good shape, because the import does most of the typing. Use the checklist below to work through it, then keep both listings saying the same thing.

Make your website match the listing

Search engines compare your listing with your site. Put the same name, address and phone on the contact page, in plain text rather than inside an image.

Contact block with the address element

The address element marks contact details for the page's owner. The phone link opens the dialler on mobile.

Why bother with Bing

Microsoft says these listings are how a business appears in Bing search results and on Bing Maps, so without one you depend on whatever Bing has gathered elsewhere.

It is also a citation: one more trusted place that states your name, address and phone the same way your website does.

What the new dashboard adds

Microsoft's 2025 redesign added real-time status updates, bulk editing for businesses with several locations, and a recommendation tool that suggests missing details such as photos, website, hours, social profiles and, for restaurants, menus or online ordering.

How it works

  1. Go to bing.com/forbusiness and sign in with a Microsoft account.
  2. Choose to import from Google, or search for your business to claim an existing listing, or add it by hand.
  3. Check every imported field, then complete any verification step the dashboard asks for.
  4. Add photos and the extra details the dashboard's recommendations suggest.
